Today is not our usual Wednesday, today is Valentine’s Day. Seeing as that today is a day surrounded by love, it is important to share our love for something we overlook on a daily basis. That thing we overlook and is vital to our businesses is in fact fossil fuel!
If you attended our last Guttman Energy Forum, you heard an interesting presentation from Alex Epstein, the founder of the Center for Industrial Progress and the author of The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels. Alex presents the fossil fuel discussion from a unique angle. His approach centers on maximizing human flourishing.
Some of Alex’s points include:
- There are 7 billion people in the world who need cheap, plentiful, reliable energy to flourish. Some 3 billion have virtually no energy by our standards, which means we need vastly more energy.
- Since the energy industry is the industry that powers every other industry, the fossil fuel industry increases productivity and prosperity in every area of life, from agriculture (diesel-powered farm equipment) to hospitals (24/7 electricity).
So on this day consider sharing the love of fossil fuels with us here at Guttman Energy.
